Tell me I’m not the only one with a pair of good socks.
Or maybe for you, it’s a favorite shirt.
You know, the thing that fits just right, looks just right, goes with what you need it to go with?
Whether to choose that favorite item is all about how soon the next laundry day is. “If I wear them today, I won’t have them tomorrow – or even until Friday.”
Of course, what often happens is I end up not wearing the good socks. But “saving” the good ones means I get to wear them less. Which is, of course, silly.
What does this have to do with you?
It’s my wish for your new year. Wear the good socks.
Use the ideas you’ve been saving until you feel you really need them. Or until you feel brave enough. Be brave.
Experiment. Test. Fail. Fail some more.
Wear the good socks today. Learn. And grow.
I’m not suggesting you try new things without thought. Throwing spaghetti at the walls gets messy and who has time to clean that up?
But plan to try. Go a little out of your comfort zone. Push yourself a little. Wear the good socks and let tomorrow be a small adventure.
Wear the good socks and enjoy today. Trust your skills and smarts to solve tomorrow’s problem when or if you come to it.
Know you have what it takes to succeed this year.
(And maybe, buy yourself a second pair of good socks.)
